Inspired by the Kanō school of painters, "Kingyo" represents 400 years of history through a modern medium. Kanō painters are known for incorporating black ink and gold leaf into their works, which depict scenes of daily life and nature. "Kingyo" is a poetic homage to Japan, its traditions, and culture. It features over a thousand handmade knots that symbolize warding off evil overlaid with golden beads, and showcases fifty unique hand-painted goldfish that symbolize prosperity.
